Direction of Bedroom

Ideally, the bedroom in south-west brings good health and prosperity for the home owner and enhances longevity. Avoid a bedroom in the north-east or south-east direction of the house.

In the south-east, it may result in quarrels among the couple. The bedroom in the north-east may cause a health issue. The children‘s bedroom is best in the east or north-west zone of the house.

  2. North Direction : The North direction is governed by diety “Kuber”. This is the ideal direction for young couples and also for storing valuables, important papers, cash, jewellery etc.

Sleeping Directions in Bedroom

As per Vastu Shastra, one should sleep with head towards South, East or West. One should NEVER SLEEP with his head in North direction.

Master Bedroom

  1. Master Bedroom, it should always be in the South-West corner of the home and head of the family must occupy this bedroom.
  2. The master bedroom should always be bigger than other rooms of the house.
  3. If the house is multi-story then master bedroom in the South-West corner of the top floor is best.
  4. Perfect place for bed in master bedroom is towards South or West wall, so that while sleeping the person’s head is towards South or West and legs towards North or East.

Make a note that the master bedroom should only be used by married couples. And no other room shall be constructed in South-West direction. The direction is not at all suitable for children room, guest room, servant room or any other room.

  1. West or North side is suitable for attached bathroom, changing room or bath tub etc.
  2. The bathroom should not face the bed directly and the door of the bathroom must always be kept closed.
  3. East, North or West walls are best spot for entrance door of master bedroom. Avoid entrance on South wall.
  4. Make sure the door of the bedroom is of single shutter and always opens completely without any noise.
  5. East or North walls are good for windows in the bedroom.
  6. South-West corner of the master bedroom should always be occupied.
  7. Best place to keep heavy wardrobes, shelves or almirah is the South-West corner of the master bedroom.
  8. A mezzanine floor in South or West wall is tolerable in the bedroom.
  9. Never place safe in bedroom. If unavoidable then place the safe away from the North-East, North-West, South-East and South-West corners and East and West directions.
  10. Place dressing table with or without mirror in the North or East wall.
  11. Make sure than none of the body part is visible in the mirror while sleeping on the bed, else the same body part will develop medical problems.
  12. Put TV and other electrical appliances in the South-East of the bedroom.
  13. Note to place a beautiful and pleasant painting on the wall of the bedroom. It must be placed in such a way that it is easily seen as someone enters the bedroom.
  14. No lifeforms, such as plants, fish {aquariums} should be placed in bedroom.
  15. The bed should never be placed in front of the bedroom door.
