The kitchen sink should be in the corner of the North-East direction. This direction is considered the correct for sink placement in the kitchen. Also, as per vastu shastra, one must place sinks and taps in the kitchen in the North-East direction and away from a gas stove or any source of fire.

Another thing to note is that the water taps should not be placed in the corner of the two counters of the sink. Under no circumstances there should not be any leakage of water from the tap in the kitchen.

If you want to store water, or place water-filters or store water in bottles for daily use, place them in the North-East direction of the kitchen. If North-East direction is not available, you can use North corner of the kitchen or the East corner of the kitchen.

As per vastu shastra, kitchen in the house should be in the South-East corner of the house. The South-East direction is the direction of fire and is considered the best for kitchen. In case, South-East direction/corner is not available (or free) in the house, then you can also construct the kitchen in the North-West corner/direction of the house.

Avoid to construct kitchen directly under the temple or pooja room or under toilet or bathroom.
