What is Pada in Vastu for South Facing House

What is pada in vastu and how to calculate 4th pada in vastu? Vastu Pada is used to harness the vastu purusha mandala and positive energies and is great for brahmasthan vastu dosh remedy measure.

What is Vastu Pada?

To understand Vastu Pada, imagine dividing the East length of the house into 9 equal parts. The division is always done from North-East to the South-East. Each part is called a “Vastu Pada” or “Pada” or a step. The first Pada in the North-East corner is 1st, and the last Pada in South-East corner is 9th.

  1. The main door or the main entrance should be in the 5th pada, the most auspicious location for the main door in an east facing the house.
  2. If the 5th pada is small, you can place the entrance in the 3rd, 4th, 6th and 7th pada.
  3. Puja room should be in the North-East. It is highly auspicious.
  4. If you’re planning to use pada 1st for main door, then make sure to leave at least 6 inches (1/2 feet) of space from North-East wall; i.e the main door shouldn’t touch North-East corner.
  5. The pada’s 6th and 7th are the ones that can be used if there’s no option to place the main door towards padas 4th, 3rd, 2nd or 1st. However, it’s always better to include pada 5th in this arrangement.
  6. Note that the Padas 8th and 9th are the “prohibited” ones and should never be used for the entrance of a house.
  7. Make walls in North and East slightly shorter and thinner than South and West.
  8. Make sure that kitchen is in South East or North West. Face East (in South East kitchen) and West (in North Waste kitchen) while cooking.
  9. Pooja room in North East is very auspicious. A living room in North East is also good.
  10. Have a guest bedroom in North West.
  11. A plot that slopes from South to North is considered good.
  12. South West master bedroom is the best for East facing house.
