Vastu Tips for Windows

As per Vastu, the number of windows and doors in a house must be in even numbers such as 2, 4, 6, 8 etc. Note that the number of windows in a house as per vastu shall not be 10. Also, it is best to have the number of doors and windows should be in the multiples of 8 (such as 8, 16, 24).

  1. The windows in the North direction wall should be more inclined towards the North-East. The North direction windows should be extra long and wide. Windows in the North direction should be the bigger of all the windows in the house.
  2. Windows on the East direction wall should be inclined more towards the North-East with a long length and width proportion.
  3. Windows towards the South-West direction wall should be avoided at any cost. Never construct any windows in this direction.
  4. Note that all windows should ideally be of symmetrical shape and height.

Vastu Tips for Main Door: What to Do

  1. Make the main door of a home the largest door. No other door can be larger than the main entrance.
  2. A two shuttered main door opening inside and clockwise is auspicious. Doors should always open at 90 degrees straight without any halt.
  3. Door made of wood for main entrance is the best.
  4. Have a threshold at main door or entrance; it will avoid loss of wealth.
  5. You can also have two main doors in a home, one for entry and another for exit having two and one shutters respectively. Make exit door smaller than entrance one.

  1. Avoid slanting, sliding or circular opening entrances.
  2. Avoid having main door facing directly to another home’s main entrance. Avoid main door directly facing a compound wall.
  3. Avoid underground tank, septic tank etc. under a home’s main door. 
  4. Don’t keep garbage or dustbin near main entrance.
  5. Don’t use automatic closing main doors.
  6. Don’t use black color for main door.
